Clinical Trials Unit

The Emory-CDC HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is 7-year NIH-funded project (launched in December 2013) led by Emory University in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that intergrates four HIV/AIDS clinical research sites based in the US, Kenya, and Thailand.  To learn more about these NIH-funded HIV/AIDS clinical trials, click here

Mission Statement:

To advance HIV/AIDS research on prevention, vaccines, treatment and cure and improve community knowledge about the disease.

       We do this by:

  • Participating in the development and implementation of HIV/AIDS network clinical trials
  • Facilitating participation of the most affected population into HIV/AIDS clinical trials, both domestically and internationally
  • Operating an efficient and flexible clinical trials unit that can respond rapidly to evolving HIV/AIDS research opportunities
  • Engaging community members to help develop clinical trials focusing on HIV/AIDS cure and prevention strategies
